And Because Iniquity Shall Abound Print E-mail

Greetings In the Name of Jesus

One of the interesting statements made by Jesus concerning the events and circumstances of the End Times is recorded in Matt 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

It is a tragic referral to a people that abandoned love. The phrase "shall wax cold" means to cool off in temperature, it is referring to love that has cooled off, lost its heat, or passion.

This is extremely important in light of the fact that being a disciple of Christ is predicated upon our ability to love.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

This virus that attacks mankind in the "last days" causing this "cooling off" is none other than iniquity, and iniquity in its simplest form is disobeying the laws of God.

This idea comes right back to love as we see from the words of Jesus when He said in John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments, or in other words don't break the laws of God.

Is would seem from Scripture that the Lord equates obedience as love, that is just how the Lords math works.

I feel that we can all come to this conclusion, "It is easier to do that which God asks to do, no matter how hard it is, than to face the fact and the responsibility of not doing it."

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.  James 4:17

The next time the Lord asks something of us, let just go ahead and do it no matter how difficult the task. Obedience will heat up our love whereas disobedience will soon cause our love to wax cold.
