Being born in Tampa Pastor Johnson is a native Floridian. His family moved to Kentucky shortly after and then on to Ohio where he met his bride, Elizabeth Johnson.

In 1989 they packed up their 3 daughters and moved to Hudson with the intention of starting a church.
